overview.

This Edmonton-based real estate agent sought to establish a distinctive personal brand that would stand out in a competitive market. The identity needed to balance professionalism with his charismatic personality, while also creating a foundation that could evolve beyond an individual agent into a scalable team brand.

The challenge was to humanize the brand without making it feel overly personal or limiting future growth.

The vision was to develop a modern, confident identity that felt approachable and distinctive, positioning the brand as both personable and credible within the real estate market.

strategy, role & approach.

I led the brand identity development as a hands-on design lead, shaping a system grounded in clarity, flexibility, and emotional connection.

Because the client’s charisma is central to his success, the brand needed to preserve that personality while signaling growth potential. We positioned the brand simply as “jay” in lowercase to soften the identity and shift perception from an individual agent to a modern, company-like brand, while retaining the charm associated with his name.

A minimal black-and-white foundation established professionalism and credibility, while vibrant neon blue linework introduced energy and personality. The linework conceptually represents Jay as a connector within the Edmonton community, reinforcing trust and approachability through visual storytelling.

Key priorities included:

  • Designing for future scalability beyond a single individual

  • Balancing credibility with charisma

  • Creating a flexible visual system adaptable across marketing and team growth
